Today is the 39th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant
The consequences of the accident affected vast territories. Belarus took on about 70% of radioactive contamination. More than 20% of the country's territory was in the zone of radio-ecological impact.
Nevertheless, our country is firmly walking the path from disaster to sustainable development of the affected regions.
On April 26 at the memorial sign “Victims of Chernobyl” a requiem rally was held to honor the memory of the victims of the accident, to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to eliminate the consequences of the disaster, as well as to express gratitude to the liquidators, whose dedication and courage remain an example for future generations.
The event gathered representatives of local authorities, liquidators of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, representatives of labor collectives, the public, and young people. Representatives of the administration of FEZ “Mogilev” also took part in the rally.
